Dental Implants are an ideal solution for the replacement of missing teeth which offers the most realistic and long lasting solution for the restoration of functionality of your oral cavity.
Dental implants are made of titanium which is placed in the jaw and a crown is placed on the top providing the appearance of a natural tooth.
Implants give greater stability and durability than other dental options for replacing missing teeth.
A dental implant is a titanium post that acts like the root of your tooth.
An implant does not come loose like a denture and also since they do not have to be anchored to other teeth, like bridges they do not sacrifice your surrounding teeth.

Dental implants have three parts:

1) The implant: This is a titanium screw that serves as a root for your new teeth. This is what permanently attaches to your jaw.
2) The abutment: A sort of a connector that supports and holds a tooth or set of teeth.
3) The crown: This is the part of the tooth that you can see, made usually of zirconium or porcelain for durability and good looks.

How Painful Are Dental Implants or is there any discomfort involved ?

What our patients say.....

Most people who have got dental implants done at our Smilessence Center say that there is very little discomfort involved in the procedure.
During the entire process local anaesthesia is used and patients who have got implants done say the pain was much less than the pain of a tooth extraction
What we, as specialists, believe…
Just as with any surgery, there can be some slightly discomfort.
However, anesthetic and pain-controlled medications are used to eliminate any discomfort at the time of the procedure.
Approximately 95 percent of patients report discomfort of 0-2 on a scale of 0-10 the day after the implants are placed.

Success rates varies, depending where in the jaw the implants have been placed.
However generally dental implants have a success rate of up to 97%.
Generally implants last 10-12 years or more depending on location of the implant and patients care of his oral hygiene.
With proper care, implants can last a lifetime.
